Backpack Club
The "Blessings in a Backpack" program helps meet the needs of hungry children in our area. Backpacks will be given to children on Fridays who receive free or reduced lunches and are selected by the school counselor.
The backpacks include six kid friendly meals that are nonperishable & easy to prepare. The children return the backpacks to school on Monday and are refilled by HPBC for the following Friday.
The cost to become a backpack partner is $5.00 a weekend or $20 a month. For only $100 you can send a child home with 6 meals a week from Jan. 14th until the end of school in May.
How can I help? Look for the sponsorship envelopes in our lobby. Feel free to give them to friends or professionals in our community who may be interested in becoming a sponsor. There are also weekly volunteer opportunities as the backpacks are assembled and delivered. You don't have to be a member of Hiland Park in order to help feed hungry kids! Preschool VIPS and Children grades 1-5 Volunteers Needed
Our
preschool and children’s departments are over flowing with babies. This
ministry is a vital part of our church and it’s growth. If you have
been looking for a place to serve that minimal time and reaps many hugs
and a lot of laughter, this is the place for you! We need preschool and
children VIP volunteers to give one hour of your Sunday just 2 or 3
times a year! Please sign up in foyer.
Would you be willing to mentor an at- risk child for one hour a week and make a Kingdom difference?
